She clenched both fists and closed her eyes for a few seconds before disappearing the next moment, followed by the bowl.
Senator Shittu had died, taking my appetite with him. I was scared and amazed at the precision with which his death occurred with respect to the day and time.
My invisible double had observed from the Senator’s large wall clock that the dead man did not even live for an extra second after the ‘prescribed’ time.
I knew I was going to end up like the Senator, who died alone, mysteriously, after enjoying a life of wealth and affluence, if I did not hurry up with my mission. I knew sooner or later, the dead Senator’s wives and children would become submerged in penury, and the whole world would wonder how all that wealth vanished so quickly.
I’d seen what I desired, and it was time to get out of the nation’s capital in order not to arouse suspicion. I folded the few clothes I’d brought with me and checked my return ticket by air to Port Harc
