Chapter 68
“Let us pray,” she whispered, as I heard faint voices outside my room, probably by nurses. Bam-Bam’s voice suddenly brought me out of my reverie the moment she began to pray.
After the three-minute prayer, the scarf was rapidly folded while I wheeled myself to the side of my bed. Soon, I lay on my bed, with my gaze still on the window, while Bam-Bam walked towards me.
“It’s only chocolate, and there’s a basket here for you whenever you want some.”
She dropped a wrapped ball of chocolate gingerly into my hands, adjusted my pillows, and walked out of my room. She stopped abruptly, popped her head through the door, and called at me.
“Finish that one before I get home, sweetie…please.”
“I will,” I responded while removing the wrapper. She blew a kiss to me and shut the door while I nibbled on the chocolate.
