In the days that followed, it became quite clear that Rachel was avoiding me in every possible way. I decided not to continue pursuing her, since we had already talked and it was evident that we had different goals. If before I wasn't up to her grand plans of getting a good marriage, now I wouldn't either, because all she wanted from me were benefits, not feelings.
