Chapter 56. Double Pain

Aurora’s POV

I was flabbergasted and totally at loss of what to say or do to placate Matteo. If I'd known that everything was a set up I would have completely avoided Nicholas.

At this juncture, I wasn't even sure that his name was Nicholas.

A rap sound resonated at the door but I wasn't ready to receive anyone. I just wanted to be on my own and think of what to do about the set up.

"Can't I be alone in peace?" I yelled, my voice croaky and filled with tiredness. But it was apparent that the person didn't want to listen to me.

The door pushed open and the lights turned on and I jerked up the bed, pulling the robe closer to my chest as Ginevra made her way towards me with a teasing smirk on her face.
