“I didn’t escape the North,” I finally rolled my eyes, hating the fact that I had to say it. “Xerxes sent me here as a proof of the beastly massacre and demonic attacks. He hoped Caesar would favor him for it, and perhaps win the admiration of Roma for his contributions to the empire.”
“Bloody bastard!” Julian cursed under his breathe.
“It is a good thing his plans did not work, and you got to meet Caesar and present your own story. He would never have believed you if Claudius is indeed out of the picture. This confuses me.”
I sank into the chair beside a medium sized bed located at the tail end of the enclave. “They dragged me in front of the Senate and tried to force a transformation out of me.”
Julian’s eyes narrowed and his shoulders shifted in my direction.
“You did not transform in front of them, did you? Wait… Are you even able to? I mean, considering the fact that you are the one who bit me and not the other way around?”
