Chapter 104. Bandits
Madeline's POV
I watched the bridge where we were going to cross. I raised my index finger to stop the assassins as I felt a dark feeling nearby. The bridge was cemented and looked okay. It looked strong and tight. But there is just something that does not feel right.
I moved Gabriel to lurch forward so I could see below the bridge. I felt Uriel's horse follow, but I did not mind him, and just continued peeking over. My eyes widened when I saw people whose bodies were hanging. They have their necks held with ropes, their bodies color gray already, and their eyes were found nowhere. It's just holes as if they were forcefully grabbed.
"What do you see, Madeline?" Freya asked me.
"I know this," I said and stared at the hollowness of the hanging people's eyes. "I know who did this." I turned Gabriel around to regard them. "We have to cross this bridge before the night comes, or else we will be killed."
"What do you mean?"
