Chapter 61. The Great Alpha

Uriel's POV

I could not feel myself breathing. What I know is that my chest is hardening, my heart not beating, and my body paralyzing. I was conscious, but darkness engulfed me. I could not even open my eyes. 

Suddenly, a warm touch crawled on my knuckles and stomach. It slowly shook me, and every shake was meaningful and powerful. Despite its softness, it was something that moved all over my system. 

"Uriel," a woman's voice whispered. "Wake up..."

Light illuminated that blinded me in my mind until an image of a woman emerged above me. At first, it was blurry and faded, but as her face moved closer, it became clearer. Marissa's face went evident, her red eyes glowing and her sweet smile plastering like one of the world's beatiful days.

"It's just me..." she whispered innocently. 

"Countess..." I whispered back, amused by her own kind of beauty.
