Chapter 33. I Can't Promise
Adams's POV
"A-Adams ... Why aren't you here again?" Aria cried, her voice wavering and feeble. While the phone was still in my ear, I plucked by my waist. Listening to how terror condenses in her voice despite the fact that I've only been gone for a few hours. But I can't remain with her for long since Zoe requires my assistance as well. What about Aria, though? She requires my comfort even more.
"Okay, I'm going there," I said as I quickly answered her questions and hung up the phone to return to Zoe inside. When I noticed she was still waiting, I hugged her and extended my neck once again so she could straighten my necktie. I can't pinpoint the feeling in her since it's because I went out without telling her.
