Chapter 40
POV: Hyun-Suk
I couldn't sleep for more than three hours.
I got up before sunrise and couldn't shake off the unease as I watched Jaejun tossing and turning in bed, possibly having a bad dream or simply burdened by everything.
Or maybe it was his body, exhausted from the constant stress.
I decided to go downstairs to the living room and lay down on the couch. I opened the curtains, allowing me to gaze at the sky and the moon. I sighed, wishing I could do more, give Jaejun more happiness, but nothing seemed to lift his spirits while his grandmother was going through such a tough time. I felt even worse knowing that the cause of it all was still out there, possibly sleeping in a warm bed with her healthy heart beating in her chest.
This thought kept me awake and restless.
