Chapter 5
POV: Hyun-Suk
As I sat quietly on the hospital room sofa, I watched Jaejun engage in a hushed conversation with his grandmother. He allowed her to touch his face, offering gentle caresses, and his eyes smiled warmly, forming little crescents underneath.
"Are you really feeling better?" he asked her. She nodded, still enchanted by her own grandson.
"It's been so long, my grandson..."
My heart swelled with relief. I had never seen Jaejun smile the way he did with her.
"I missed you so much, Grandma."
"I thought I wouldn't see you again. Su-ji said you didn't want to come back."
"Aunt Su-ji lied, Grandma, but what matters is that I'm here now," Jaejun said, stroking her cheek the same way she did to him. "I'm really happy to see you."
"I do feel a bit better, but the doctor said I'm still weak, and I know my condition is quite serious."
"Don't think like that, okay? They'll take good care of you here. And you're on
