The light pearls caught the sharp angles of his face, highlighting the cool amusement in his dark eyes.

Talon’s gaze immediately snapped to Alaric’s exposed throat and his pupils thinned to slits, a low growl rumbling from his chest. "Where the fuck is it?" he snarled.

Alaric arched a brow. "Where the fuck is what?" he asked, feigning innocence. Then, as if just catching on, he made an exaggerated ‘ohhh’ sound, his slender fingers drifting lazily to his throat, tracing the pale skin there. "You mean the collar?" He smirked, expecting Talon to burst into fury at any moment. The bird had always been such a hot head. He could have worn a high neck robe to cover the fact that the collar wasn’t on his neck but Talon had tormented him with that collar for 3 months. Now that he was free of it, he couldn’t help but want revenge.

Talon’s entire frame tensed, his breath coming out in a harsh hiss. His canines and claws elongated, smoke curling from his nostrils as fury boile
