Eron stiffened. His clear blue eyes widened for the briefest of moments before he looked away. Guilt flickered across his face—but only for a second as he quickly composed himself. “I-I am the creator of the Earth,” he stammered. “Of course I know what happens on it.”
But Ron wasn't buying it. He knew Eron well. The Earth Spirit was powerful, yes, but he was also notoriously indifferent toward mortal affairs. So long as the planet itself wasn’t in immediate danger, Eron rarely interfered. Natural disasters, political unrest, even wars—none of these moved him much unless they posed a threat to the planet’s survival. He always said that he created the Earth for heaven and heaven put human beings on it so their affairs were heaven's responsibility not his.
So why did he know the exact year the Dark Lord’s trail ended?
Ron’s eyes darkened with suspicion. “You’re hiding something, Eron.” he said slowly. “Why don't you want me to find the Dark Lord? What did you do?”
