Chapter 408
Alaric stood in the courtyard, the air humming softly with magic as he chanted a spell to fortify the castle structure just in case the battle with Dareth happens close by. As Ron said, it would be the home where his nephews would grow up and he didn't want it getting destroyed in the fight. He was adding protective wards to the pillars when he sensed Talon approaching.
“Not now, Talon” he warned as he turned sharply, eyes narrowing. What did the stupid chicken want anyway? Wasn't he being clear enough by ignoring him?
But Talon obviously didn’t listen to him. He continued to approach so Alaric decided to ignore him and focus on the protection wards. He muttered the final words of the incantation and when the last sigil sealed with a shimmer of blue light, he quickly chanted his vanishing spell.
Talon, who had already anticipated that, hurriedly jumped and hugged Alaric just as the spell took effect.
The room warped and in an instant, they landed
