“Uhm, he said no visitors?”
“No visitors? Are you for real, Kayla?”
I bit my lip. I was finally talking to Chris after the long day. And I had told him everything Mr. Reeves had said. To say he was not talking it lightly was an understatement. But I understood him. I would be mad as hell too.
“Wait, Chris, don’t be mad. I’ll talk to him...” I trailed out.
There was a pause and then a sigh. “I still don’t understand why it was easier for you to choose him over me. Did you think I wouldn’t be able to provide for you or what?”
