"There would have been no problem replacing the maid." She replied to me.
"Baby please. Just let me do my thing. Let me employ who I want to work under me. I know why I do the things I do." I told her.
"Explain the fact that you reached home over thirty minutes ago, but you're just entering the room now." She asked.
"I went to make sure she was here in one piece and she was comfortable, that's all." I knew I was lying. I did more than check if she was okay. At the same time, I couldn't tell her the truth. I knew she alway knew something was going on, but saying it to her face was another thing.
