Chapter 169
The Queen's tone brooked no argument. The Queen seemed pissed. Her authority has been questioned a lot recently and she was not happy about it.
"I am aware of the charges, Chief Inspector. I have decided to grant him a reprieve. Release him to my custody at once."
The Chief Inspector sighed, "Very well, Your Majesty. I will see to it personally."
George's eyes widened in disbelief as the cell door swung open and the guard gestured for him to exit.
"You're free to go, George.."
Within minutes, George was escorted out of his cell and into the bright sunlight. He was still reeling from the sudden turn of events, unsure what to expect, but grateful for the unexpected reprieve.
George's mind raced as he stumbled out of the cell, his thoughts reeling with confusion.
"What? How? I didn't even...I didn't even have a trial yet," he stammered, his eyes darting around the unfamiliar surroundings.
