Chapter 20

Mary's POV 

From him, I took my gaze behind the Alpha king to see the senior doctor and his assistant behind him, all had confused looks. They didn't understand the aura which was prevalent in the room from the Alpha king's presence. 

Most confusing was how he came here without even calling, so many suspicions arose from my mind. 

"Could it be that he already knew about the attack or it was staged by him because George challenged him?" 

I trailed my fingers through my hair, scattering it. I didn't know whether to be angry or sad or to remain composed. Since the Alpha king answered George, he didn't say a word. This even made the doctors behind him even more puzzled. 

"What's going on here?" George arose from the bed, I think he couldn't control his emotions. He might be thinking the same thing I'm thinking.
