Chapter 80. It’s Going to Cost You

Liam’s POV

[Flashback]

“Your mother’s condition is getting worse. The drugs are not going to be any help much longer. What she needs is surgery.”

“You know we can’t afford surgery right now. I’m still working on pulling cash for that. You said we had till next year.”

“I know, but things have changed. She needs surgery.”

I ran my hand across my hair in frustration.

“We cannot afford surgery now. I’m already in a lot of debt because of the pills. There’s gotta be something you can do to buy us time. Please.”

The doctor shook his head. “I’m sorry, Theo. Surgery is the only way now or she’s not gonna make it.”

I shut my eyes in anger for a second. “How long do we have?”

“Less than a month. There’s really no time. Wish you the best of luck,” he added before walking away.

My hands folded into a fist.

Best of luck? What the hell was that going to do for us?

I punched the wall in frustration.
