Lena’s POV
It has been one week and I’ve not heard a single word from Lucas. No calls, no messages, no sudden appearances outside my house or workplace.
Nothing at all
At first, I thought he was giving me space, then I thought maybe he went back to tell his parents the truth.
But finally, I concluded that he wasn’t coming back. I exhaled slowly as I stared blankly at the ceiling as the realization sat heavily in my chest.
He must have accepted that we couldn’t be together because he couldn’t do what I asked of him.
A small, bitter smile tugged at my lips. That was what I wanted… right?
So why did it feel like something was slowly breaking inside me?
“Lena! I’m leaving!” Liana’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
I pushed myself up from the couch just as she rushed out of her room, already dressed and glowing.
“You look suspiciously happy for someone who is going to class,” I said, narrowing my eyes at her.
