Chapter 16. Losing Her
Luciano's POV
The car ride came to a halt, making me look at her.
She had ignored me the whole ride, and something tugged at my heart, but I kept my expression neutral.
That silence was louder than anything else. Not anger, not an argument—just her absence even while sitting right beside me.
It shouldn’t have mattered.
But it did.
She opened the car door, and I stepped out from my side, walking over to her before picking her up in a bridal style.
She gasped and clenched my shoulders.
“Luciano.”
Her voice came out sharp, surprised, and breathless all at once.
I looked at her with my stern gaze and noticed her breath hitch as she lowered her head.
I shook my head slightly at her before walking inside.
On my way, I ordered one of my men to get the doctor.
I didn’t like the way she was holding herself. I didn’t like the way she looked away from me.
