Chapter 102. Gunshots in the Master Bedroom

Police Chief Wilder Bowie showed up to our cell himself. And the frown on his face would have fooled a more naive person into believing he deplored the situation. 

“I cannot tell you how sorry I am,” he said as soon as he got to us, then turned to bark at the cop beside him to hurry up and let us out.

I watched all the theatrics with a frown, while Sean let out a sigh behind me.

“This was a whole mix-up, and Sabot will be facing disciplinary action.” The Police Chief continued when I cut him off.

“Not enough, I will sue.”

“You have every right to Mr Fletcher.” He said, “Once again, I am so sorry.” 

I frowned in suspicion, stepping out of the cell. There was little chance that Sabot had admitted that he messed with the breathalyzer, or that he had provoked us and lied about us attacking him.

So why was Wilder pretending to apologize?
