Chapter 245. Unrequited love

Now that we were past that, I suspected this next part would be difficult. 

After the storm that was last night, it was quite suspicious that we would come to such a quick resolution. 

I left the table then, walked towards the bed to get my phone. My fingers clacked against the screen, rescheduling our appointment for sunset as I returned to the couch.

My eyes went over the text again, and I added that I was willing to pay extra for their troubles, before hitting send.

Placing my phone on the table, I sighed, hoping they approved. When I made the reservation before dawn while Colt was still asleep, I had no idea our tryst would take such a turn.

“I heard something odd last night.” I picked up the chopstick again. “Twice.” Our eyes met. “Is there an important past lover you've not told me about?”
