Chapter 252. Outbidding Death

Chris brought one of the cars around, and I helped Olivia into the backseat as I told him we were headed straight for the airport.

“Elora can send the suitcases on the next flight,” I added, and Chris gave a nod before jogging off to his car behind. 

“Sonsy. You’re quiet.” I turned to Olivia as Chris' SUV sped past us to arrange the jet before we arrived.

“When will it end?” She responded, staring at the demarcation glass sightlessly. “I feel like a walking target. If I couldn’t even be safe in a country where no one is supposed to know me, how am I supposed to survive a day in Silicon Valley?”

I winced.

This was all my fault. I promised to fix this over and over, but kept coming up short.

The Gyehna, true to his name, was a sly bastard, a sly bastard and a coward who surrounded himself with fools he’d brainwashed to do his bidding.
