Chapter 278. Surprises at the Ball

I took time explaining why it was important I was at this ball, but Axel disagreed, saying it was pointless.

“Ok. Let’s say it turns out to be pointless. What harm could come from it though?” 

“You, fucking falling in a faint,” he smacked his thigh, eyes burning bright in an incredulous look.

I looked away. 

I’d try not to do that because there was still so much to be done. Despite realizing Luiza was being manipulative, there was some truth to what she said. 

The company was important to Olivia, especially with Morvian here now. 

So I had Chris bring in a tuxedo, and got dressed for the ball right in my ward.

“What if the Gyehna attacks you?” Axel tried one last argument as he watched me get ready.
