Chapter 76. All for You

Ava’s POV

Later that day, me and Sophie went to the Complex to see the staff also because Claire had insisted on coming. What we didn’t expect was a big shout when we stepped inside.

“SURPRISE!”

I jumped, and Sophie’s eyes flew wide with horror.

“Welcome home, Sophie!” they yelled again, and my gorgeous baby was smiling so wide like she had won the lottery.

She gazed up at me with big eyes shining with wonder and delight. “Is this for me?”

“Yes, baby. All for you.” Claire kissed her cheeks and took her in to cut the cake.

A round of applause broke out as several of the residents gathered closer, presenting cupcakes, handmade cards, and bundles of balloons. It was a small, heartfelt celebration thrown together by the residents of the complex, even some occupants of the department store stopped by to give Sophie their gifts.

There was a colorful banner with “You’re So Brave, Sophie!” written across it in glittery letters in the mi
