Chapter 2
The pain was still the same. It cut mercilessly into Jesslyn. Although she intentionally wore sunglasses to shield her eyes from the blazing sun, it was useless. She still cried. Until her steps halted at the two graves that she had tidied up. Overgrown with well-maintained grass, adorned with names carved into beautiful stones.
"Apah, Amah, I've come," she said with trembling hands, gently stroking the top of the graves with overwhelming emotions. After being left for several years, the feeling was still the same. "I'm sorry it took me so long to visit."
She offered a prayer to her God, seeking forgiveness for all the wrongs her parents had ever done. Enlightened while they slept peacefully. While repeatedly reassuring herself in her heart that she could get through this. After all... it had been almost nine years since their departure, and Jess still stood strong, challenging the world.
