Olive’s jaw nearly hit the ground.

And me? I blinked once, twice, my heart hammering, but the absurdity of it all bubbled up inside me.

Off limits? Me?

What was that supposed to mean?

Still, I recovered quickly.

“Actually…” I cut in brightly, turning to the newcomer. “I’d love to.”

Leo’s head snapped toward me, disbelief flashing in his eyes.

“You—what?”

But before he could say another word, the handsome stranger offered me his strong arm, and I took it.

“Shall we?” he asked.

“Gladly,” I replied, smiling sweetly—half out of spite, half out of sheer panic at what I’d just done.

And with that, I walked away, leaving Leo rooted in place, his expression caught somewhere between flabbergasted and furious.

Once we were finally out of sight, I exhaled shakily, fighting the itch to look back at him. Somehow, I managed to hold myself still.
