Anyway, Emma stopped in front of him, smiling with that sly, catty expression.
I knew something cunning was coming up.
“Listen,” she purred, “if you really want a woman to notice you—especially one like Charlotte—you’ve got to make her jealous. She behaves that way because you gave her all the attention. Once you have your eyes on another, even if it’s a fake one, she will be forced to care.”
“Seriously?” I muttered under my breath, rolling my eyes.
But to my surprise, he actually considered it.
His shoulders lifted in a helpless shrug, his brows furrowed in desperation.
“To make her jealous?” he asked aloud, looking genuinely confused. “Wouldn’t that be… obvious?”
Emma leaned closer, hand on her hip, her voice dropping into a seductive whisper. “Not if it’s done right. Trust me. Step one—you need a hot girl.”
