Chapter 81

Fallon’s POV

“You should have remained dead.”

I felt a cold chill fall on me. His eyes burned with deep hatred as he spoke, and I knew he meant it.

He walked away, not turning back even once.

How dare he say those words to me?

He mourned me? Liar, that’s what he is. A heartless, manipulative liar.

I was fighting to survive the transformation while he went on his conquest and ambitious goals.

“Don’t listen to him,” Nathan whispered beside me.

Thankfully, his nose had healed.

“We better head back,” he added, pulling me as he began walking back to the castle.

I followed him in a daze, unable to mutter a word.

The rest of the party seemed to go by in a blur, with Nathan leading me from guest to guest while I managed a smile.

After minutes of enduring, I knew I needed to leave.

“I want to leave,” I whispered to Nathan, expecting him to understand.

“You can stay; I’ll go alone,” I quickly added.
