Chapter 84
Fallon’s POV
I gulped down the beer before slamming the cup on the table.
“More,” I said to the human bartenderress, who looked at me in surprise. It must have been the eighth time I asked for a refill within a few minutes. She walked towards me and filled the cup again.
I looked around the pub. It was almost empty, with about two humans nursing their drinks.
“We’re closing soon,” she whispered respectfully.
Ignoring her, I sneaked a look at the moon outside. It should be about two hours from daybreak. I gulped down my drink, slammed down a bigger number of cents than I should have paid, and then dashed out of the bar into the streets of the small village.
Although it was a poor village, the air was cleaner than most parts of the Republic. Definitely because it had no factories around and was just a few villages from the big wall that shut out our Republic from the rest of the world.
The events of the night had been too much
