Darius’s POV

I drove through the empty road at a high speed. This was what I enjoyed most about the rural areas of Anathrad. The tiny population and the lack of crowds and noise.

Over the years, it’s become a habit to leave Cillicia and all its affairs behind for a day or two to spend time alone in a small house in the deepest parts of Anathrad.

Mostly because it reminded me of the days we spent in Fye, where everything seemed perfect.

Yet even after finding the truth about her being alive, I found myself taking the trip again.

The house was just a two-bedroom on a property with a big running river behind. Again, I chose it because she fancied lakes and rivers.

The next neighbor was acres away, giving me the absolute privacy I sought.

Hours later, I dashed into the forest for a good run.

I had barely gone a few miles when I noticed a figure running in the distance. On noticing my presence, the figure dashed away.
