Chapter 25
Time passed quickly, and so Antoine woke up groggily at dusk, safely tucked in the ceiling beams of Edgar’s on the third month of his stay at the blond’s home. Edgar was also just blinking awake as Antoine woke up.
“Good evening,” the younger vampire said as Antoine stretched his stiff arms and legs.
“Good evening,” Antoine replied. “Did you rest well?”
“Like the dead,” Edgar replied with a grin. “Fancy a walk tonight?”
Antoine did feel like taking in the moonlight, so they headed to Hyde Park, where they could stroll among the shadowed trees and sit by the moon’s reflections and sleeping swans in the lake.
“So, what’s really got you to come all the way out here?” Edgar asked. “Something’s wrong, and that’s plainly obvious. You’ve avoided my questions for months!”
