''So... your boyfriend passed away?'' Easton inquired, his hand running through my hair as I pressed my cheek against his chest. ''I'm so sorry, Miss Bell. May Jasper find peace in—''

''No!'' I pulled away from him, looking up at his face. ''Jasper didn't die.''
