''Please, call me Oliver...'' Once more, he flashed a grin and enthusiastically shook my hand. ''And you're right... Chloe. I'm not your father's physician; rather, I am just a lowly surgeon.'' As he saw the blank look on my face, he went on to explain that he was the one who had managed my dad's surgery earlier. ''I did a meniscectomy on his knee. The meniscus was torn.''

''Oh…'' I felt apprehension chill my spine at the thought of my father going under the knife, blade, scalpel, or whatever they called it.

The expression on Oliver's face became more calm and soothing. ''Your father is an exceptionally strong man. As soon as he has fully recovered, he'll be free to go home safe and sound…''

''Thank you, Dr… Oliver,'' I smiled, even though I was scarcely soothed by his words. ''That�
