Chloe POV
I was fixated on my phone as I tried to figure out why Easton wasn't picking up when I called. He stated that he anticipates daily video calls and texts from me, but where was he right now? Did something happen to him?
The only thing I could hear besides my pulse-pounding so quickly was the heels of my black shoes clicking loudly against the black and white linoleum floor as I paced the deserted corridor of the hospital ward. My mind was ruminating on a number of different scenarios.
''I will never ever hurt you, Chloe…'' I could still hear Easton's voice echoing in my ear. Was that enough reason for me to put my trust in him? To believe in him?
