Chapter 17
Zerran's father explained to Aria what really happened, and she was so thankful that he saved her from the man who wanted her life. Even his father needed to kill the man in the end without knowing what happened after she fainted and he took her since the area was unsafe for her. And the fear of this old man embarrassed her, despite knowing the truth she judged.
"We need to talk, Dad," Zerran began, and he exhaled, troubling him of something Aria could not name.
"Why don't we talk here with Sartin's daughter? Are you ashamed of what you did to me?" his father responded and scratched the side of his eyebrows. He crossed his heels and leaned back in the seat, continuing to give a light pressure to his jaw.
Zerran looked at his father with regret, and Aria saw it. "My apology, Dad, I thought, you know..." He glanced meaningfully at his father.
