Chapter 54

Zerran groaned and shifted his body, lying sideways overlooking the door. His eyes closed, and his hand searched for something at his side. He opened his eyes. The bed was empty. He pushed himself with his palm at the his back on planted on the soft mattress.

“Aria?” he called. He quickly left the bed, naked and sauntered to the bathroom.

All he saw was the empty area, and he closed it. He came out of his own room after taking his pants on and taking significant steps, and halted in front of the other room--Aria’s room.

He knocked. “Aria?” Hearing no reply, a cold crawled at his back. Is she mad that she does not want to talk to him?

Zerran kept knocking and calling his name. Yet obtained no response from Aria. Then he exhaled.

“I know you are mad, and I am sorry. Can we talk?” Zerran’s beseeching voice. She gave only silence. “Aria...” He stopped knocking and banged his head on the door. His shoulders dropped.
