Sofia’s POV

While I sat up on the bed, I tried to calm my pounding headache by rubbing my hands through my hair. Each night was the same, experiencing strange nightmares that were preventing me from going to sleep and waking up at strange hours. I took a few long breaths and attempted to relax. I glanced around and realized I was in Sterling’s mother’s house. A drop of sweat ran down my back. Sterling was asleep next to me, so I got up and discreetly exited the room. I unlocked Steel’s chamber door quietly and let out a sigh that I was not even aware I was holding when I saw how comfortably he was sleeping.

I walked down the stairs and searched for the kitchen in the darkness. A glass of cold water helped to calm me down a little.
