Chapter 44

Sofia’s POV

I covered my tracks to make sure I wasn’t being followed before gently making my way to the estate. I had to be careful not to step into a trap or let the attackers get right to my door, especially if it meant placing Steel in danger. Finally reaching the mansion gave me an unexpected safe feeling. I never imagined thinking about it, much less admitting it to myself. I approach the main gate. The guards put their defenses up as they sensed someone approaching.

When they spotted me, their attitude altered a little, and they opened the gates without saying anything to me. I noticed one of them grabbed the phone. Probably informing Leo or Sterling. Without a second thought, I walked into the estate. While holding my breath I enter the code to the elevator. The elevator opened up revealing I sight I wouldn’t have imagined in a hundred years.

Sterling stood in front of Steel’s chamber with his back to the locked door I sensed his anger even though I w
