Chapter 66

Sofia’s POV

I went back to the hospital room when Leo left. My mother was on her way with Steel, I needed to face him. I had to tell him exactly what was going on. It was a lot easier to get the courage to tell him now that I knew Sterling was going to be okay.

When we didn’t know what the outcome would be it was a struggle for me. I didn’t want to have to tell him he could lose his dad just like he had lost his mother.

There was a knock on the ICU door. “Come in,” I spoke.

Sterling mother opened the door and Steel held her hand. “Hey, sweetie.” She greeted me as she entered the room.

Her eyes then fell on Sterling who lay in the hospital bed in his deep sleep. Steel let go of her hand and approached Sterling.

“Daddy still won’t wake up?” he asked as he glanced at me and then back to Sterling.

“Not right now. The doctor says his body is still trying to work through everything.” I answered.

“He’ll wake up soon, I’m sure.”
