Chapter 133. True Happiness

Avery’s POV

“Avery, it’s just nine a.m. in the morning. Don’t tell me you came here immediately after Carlos and Lucas left for school.” I quickly avert my gaze, knowing she had caught me red-handed. I was supposed to be resting as instructed by the doctor.

“Avery,” she called, taking my hands in hers. “I would spend the day with him, and you can come in the evening. I need you to take a good rest.”

“Mother, I can’t stop thinking about him, and my mind is only settled when I am this close to him.”

Camilla exhaled deeply. “I know, but you should also be considerate of your baby. Don’t you know if Ethan was conscious, you wouldn’t be allowed to stress yourself in this manner? Think of him as if he is awake and what he would say.”

Ethan would surely be restless if he were to be awake. I imagine him calling for a doctor at once to check me. Camilla’s words surely make sense.

I give her a smile. “Alright mother.”
