Chapter 68. Daddy Isn’t Coming

Avery’s POV

I was stunned when we entered the classroom. The classroom almost looked like a fashion show. Parents were dressed expensively, and I found myself wondering if they knew that there would be physical activities.

I could see the disappointment in the eyes of some of the other mothers as they scanned my outfit, but I couldn’t care less. I was here for my sons and not anybody else.

“Hey girl!”

Well, maybe I was here for Anita too.

I turned in her direction to see her walking towards me with a huge grin on her face and a dramatic wave. Thankfully, she was dressed in normal clothes like me.

“You are looking good!” She winked before looking around. “Where is Ethan?”

My mood almost turned sour when she mentioned Ethan, but I gathered my emotions and put on a smile. “He is not coming.”

“Oh girl, don’t you try to act strong in front of me; you look really sad right now.” She opened her arms wide. “Here, give me a hug.”
