“Yes please. I am only sending invitations to their classmates and not the entire school; there is only so much we can take. Thank you.”

A sigh left me, and I dropped my phone on the table. I was making preparations for the boys’ birthday. It is just three days away now, and my nerves can’t stop growing.

The whistling of the kettle brings me to reality, and I reach to turn off the cooker.
