Chapter 70. Can’t Bear to Disappoint You

Avery’s POV

I searched around the storage and quickly found a first-aid box on one of the shelves.

“Sit down and take off your shirt.” I instructed, bringing out a disinfectant and some cotton wool.

“That sounds like something to say before a round of hot sex.”

I groaned. “Stretch it out for me. Your arm, I mean.” I said, adding the last part so he doesn’t make another joke. I am worried!

We sat in silence while I started removing the bandage. It is soaked with blood and must be caused by the overexertion from the painting he did earlier.

“A bomb blast occurred on the bridge while I was on the way here,” My hand shook, and I could barely grab the bandage. I felt a small squeeze on my hand and looked up to see Ethan looking at me with a reassuring look in his eyes. “It is okay, kitten.”

My heart is pounding from anxiety, and I can’t think of anything to say, so I give him a nod before I continue unwrapping the bandage.
