Amelia’s POV

The last thing I expected when I arrived at the bar was to find my boyfriend leading a full-on, soul-bearing karaoke performance.

But there he was, center stage, gripping the mic like his life depended on it, voice raw with emotion as he butchered an old rock ballad at the top of his lungs.

Around him, a very enthusiastic crowd swayed and screamed the lyrics back at him, fully invested in whatever dramatic performance this was. I caught sight of a group of strangers with their arms around each other like they’d just survived a war together, another dude thumping his chest like this was his anthem, and a couple making out like they owed their relationship to this song.

I just stood there. Stunned.

I had spent the entire day agonizing over how I was going to talk to Liam about Phoebe, planning every word, every possible outcome, only to show up and find this.
