Chapter 32. What The Hell Had That Been?

Amelia’s POV
“I’ll just—” Adrian began, looking around the room until his eyes landed on the full-length mirror. “There it is. Come on.”
I nodded, stepping out of the way as he moved toward the mirror. My heart was already racing from his unexpected appearance, but now, with him so close, it was nearly impossible to concentrate. He waited for me to come and stand in front of him, our eyes locking briefly in the mirror before he got to work, his fingers brushing against my back gently as he carefully worked on the straps.
His touch was light, but every brush of his fingers against my skin made my breath hitch. I focused on the mirror in front of me, trying to count backward from a hundred like I usually did whenever I was nervous. But it was impossible to ignore the way his presence filled the space, the way he moved with such quiet confidence, but most importantly, the way his hands felt against my skin.
