Amelia’s POV
Dr. Sharma deserved a gift for so many reasons, but right now, it was for deciding to have breakfast with Adrian and me. The moment she arrived at the table, I instantly felt the tension ease off my shoulders.
“Good morning, Amelia, and Adrian.” She greeted me with a smile, her tone warm and friendly. “How did you sleep?”
I smiled back, grateful for her genuine presence. “It was okay, thank you.”
Adrian, sitting beside me, gave a slight nod in acknowledgment, but said nothing. I didn’t mind. In fact, I wouldn’t mind if he didn’t say a word for the rest of our time here. I turned my attention to Dr. Sharma, who began discussing the summit plans in earnest. She outlined the exciting projects, the panels, and the networking opportunities, her voice full of enthusiasm. It was easy to get lost in her words, to lose myself in the talk of the event, as though Adrian wasn’t even there.
