Zevara’s POV

“I saw Zevara and Father.”

Nina’s sharp voice echd through the dinning room like a thunderstorm about to break.

My chest pounded. My body trembled and I literally choked on the scrambled eggs in my mouth. I let out a guttural cough, and my eyes burned with unshed tears.

With shaky hands, I grabbed the glass of water on the table and I gulped it down. I thought I had set the empty glass on the table, but it slipped and shattered on the floor.
