Author’s POV
Two Days Later.
“Luna Cassandra,” Riven called softly.
The team had played well in the tournament. They were fuelled by Talon’s desire and tenacity to win when he was alive, so they played like their lives depended on it… because it sure did. As they played that day, the rink was thick with tension and emotions; even the officials asked everyone to observe a moment of silence for him before the game started. The coach had even cried openly as he watched his boys play, but the one person who had given it his all was missing.
They won, and here they were at the royal cemetery, standing at the niche that belonged to Luna Cassandra, to present the award to Talon’s mother like he had wanted.
“We are here, Luna,” he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. His gaze flicked back to the other team members with whom they had played alongside one another. One of them squeezed his arm reassuringly. He heaved, steadying himself, and continued. “
