Zevara’s POV

I don’t understand her; I couldn’t understand her. My face crumpled in shock as I stared at Nina—for a long moment, and yet she didn’t look like she was kidding or something. She didn’t seem like there was anything bad in what she had just spewed out.

If anything, she was smiling faintly as if she didn’t fucking know how much I hated Ashen. How much he tormented my life. Of course.. she knew everything, because she stood up for me back then.

Then my gaze shift towards Ashen and the asshole expression remained confident—almost seemed like he had expected me to jump on him. He had expected that I’d welcome him back with open arms and a wide smile.

The absurdity of her words had managed to knock off the air in my throat. “What did you just say?” I managed to choke out. “Are you really serious or you’re just kidding, Nina?” I had to ask because to be sure of myself because no matter how hard I tried to make it make sense.. it’s just dsn’t.
